This is so I can link back from a comment I'm making on boingboing.

Some Stuff

Dara freaked me out when she said you can't bring personal items into Heathrow today. Thankfully, she was wrong.

Yeah, I've been stressing a ton lately about the trip home, which is a good thing to stress about, I guess, but I really get compulsive around traveling, like booking a 4:30AM bus ride that should take under two hours for an 11AM flight.

Considering both my bags were EXACTLY 50lbs after packing them for HOURS with a scale in hand, I'm soooo worried about the prospect of packing blind and getting screwed at the airport.

Speaking of which, is anyone flying from London to the Bay Area before June 16th who wants to bring a bag back for me? Pleeeeeease?

In other news, Edwards endorsed Obama, and apparently would accept candidacy for VP, though her prefers Attorney General, and that is just plain great. That would be a wonderful ticket.

In other other news, in California, the gay marriage ban has been overturned. Hooray!

Really, NASA?

This morning, Nicko sent me some exciting news:

"NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years."

ET? Habitable planets? Who knows! There was conjecture that NASA had hired a PR department, because this seems unlike their traditionally dorky-public-relations-and-also-sometimes-error-riddled MO.

Ooooh! So we both waited with bated breath, even to the point of my postponing dinner (so this is obviously a big deal) for a few minutes. What WAS cool was that we got to hear the actual press-conference-call, so it's not like we were behind major news outlets; we were all finding out at the same time. However, pretty soon we were let down.

The big discovery? The most recent supernova in our galaxy. Sigh. Thanks, anyway, NASA. Obviously I left for dinner pretty soon, but what I DID hear that was interesting was they're should be way more supernovas than there currently are observed in our galaxy. Therefore, Nicko and I deduced, we have alien neighbors protecting us from them.

Dinner was not good.

LOBSTER JOHNSONNNNNNN

One of my favorite comic book names ever. Also a great comic drawn by Mike Mignola, who does Hellboy, and whose art I absolutely love.

In fact I had this image rasterbated and up on my wall first semester of this year:

Happy Mother's Day!

Hey Mom and Grandma, you guys are awesome. How cool that you get to be together on Mother's day! Mom, I'm sure Pete got you a really cool gift not-from-a-store. I don't have a ton of stuff today, I just woke up from a nap. Ummmm....

I got some sweet shoes today, as I rid myself of every flip flop or flat I brought when I was in Barcelona. BEHOLD!

These, but white, and not patent.

Oh, it's 91 degrees in our room right now.

Ugh.
